CES 2017 Update: Amazon's Alexa Integration In Consumer Products Increases

The growing integration of many consumer products in Amazon’s Alexa is making waves this week at CES. This collaboration is helping several companies improve the features of their products and make interested buyers to check their items.

Amazon’s Alexa is a voice command device that features answering questions, controlling smart gadgets or devices and even plays music. With the addition of many other computers, home appliances and electronics who are announcing of having Alexa integration, working and living in an automated office and home are no longer impossible. According to Geekwire reports, Amazon’s Alexa now has more than 7,000 skills or integrations, which is more than double from September in 2016 and it simply keeps on growing! 

One of the most significant integration is with the Smart Assistant from Lenovo wherein it performs different functions and has voice recognition. It also allows users to play music, do web research, manages calendar appointments and so much more.

According to TheVerge.com, other products that already have Alexa integrations include TVs from Westinghouse, Seiki and Element, LG’s refrigerator and hub, Aristotle from Mattel, GE’s LED ring lamp just to name a few. However the highlight of the year is the growing number of products which will be using Alexa’s integration which includes Whirlpool’s roster of dryers, washers, ovens and refrigerators; Hopper DVR from Dish, which allows users to navigate, search and quick-play the contents of the device, Samsung‘s Roomba competitor and the router system from Linksys’ Velop. It was also announced that Amazon’s bestseller includes the Echo Dot and other devices featuring Amazon’s Alexa were the Holiday Season’s top sellers.

According to Technewsworld.com, a principal analyst from Tirias research says that Amazon’s move to share its technology and have a friendly partnership with different companies is good not only for the company but for the industry as well.
