What we expect from Microsoft's on October 26 event

Microsoft is holding an event on October 26 in New York. This event is going to be toned down substantially with fewer announcements and a lot less hardware. That means we will see many new products and less new features in Windows 10. Here’s what we are expecting from Microsoft October Event.

Next chapter of Windows 10

Microsost working on to release the next major update of Windows 10 which is often known as Windows 10 Redstone 2. Windows 10 Redstone 2 is all about productivity and improvements. So, we might see some big improvements in available features like Cortana. Maybe we will see that OfficeHub (you might heard), a new file manager (I am not hoping, but still excited to see), OneClip and more.

Windows 10 Redstone 2 is set to launch somewhere in March 2017 and it will bring your PC to version 1703. And maybe they will announce few things about Windows 10 Redstone 3 which is expected to launch after Summer 2017.

Surface All-in-One

Well, well, well! Here’s some excitement. There are many rumors about the Surface All-in-One desktop (AIO). Back in June 2016 we heard many reports that Microsoft is working on a new surface device. This time its not a laptop or a tablet but its a desktop.

The device could likely have a detachable display, inking support, and be modular in nature with add-on components. It will have 4K resolution and would have couple of varients (21 – 24 and 27 inches also). Maybe that’s the device which is part of the Project Scorpio. But since Project Scorpio was announced at Xbox event so it might be part of that. Right? But I think? No no, It’s wired. Just forget it.

Surface Phone/ A new Lumia no way!

No way! No. After the recent tragedy with Microsoft Lumia project there has to be something in this direction. But since we all know that the they stopped the Lumia production. So, there is no hope for new Lumia. But maybe they want to refurbish it. Right? Nah. Re-brand it? Just like Nokia Lumia to Microsoft Lumia? So, the Surface Phone? Nah, too. But I wish.

There is no way Microsoft is going to announce any new hardware in Mobile. So, what about Windows 10 Mobile? Windows 10 Mobile is just software not hardware. They continue to develop it and continue to support Lumia devices.

HomeHub

Microsoft to enter the “smart assistant”. HomeHub would just like the Amazon Echo. Microsoft’s Amazon Echo competitor is just that but powered by Cortana instead of Amazon’s Alexa. However, Google already launched Google Home earlier this year. It would be the rival for both. But the question is will it arrive? If it is then will it beat both Google Home and Amazon Echo?

Surface Refurbish

Since we are not expecting Surface Pro 5 or Surface Book 2, but it is possible that we heard some news about Surface Book 2 redesign. We have heard some reports of a Kaby Lake refresh for the Surface line. Kaby Lake is the codename for Intel’s 7th generation Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, which bring reduced heat, a double-digit bump in integer performance, improved Speed Shift technolog.

Surface Dock

Skype Room for Surface devices

At Microsoft Ignite a few weeks ago Microsoft announced the next generation of Skype Room Systems. Skype Room Systems bring the Skype for Business meeting experience with rich HD audio and video to meeting rooms. Meanwhile the app which drives the feature is available in the Windows Store for surface devices. We might heard more about this at the event.

Microsoft Band 3

Microsoft officially removed Band 2 from their store. So there is no hope for the next band I mean Microsoft Band 3.

Maybe We will see Joe Belfiore at this event. :O

So, that’s all what I am hoping for this year’s Microsoft October Event. What you expecting from Microsoft form this event? Let us know in a comment below.
