As revealed by Tech Times, three new devices were launched by Pebble Technology in its Kickstarter campaigns. These include the Pebble Time 2 and Pebble 2 for smart watches and the Pebble Core, a cellular-connected clip-on device.

The wearable Pebble Core device uses Android operating system from Google and can be clipped on the wearer’s clothes. This remarkable device keeps track of distance, pace and location via GPS, which is standard for fitness trackers. The Pebble Core also allows users to send emergency messages, record voice notes and stream online music through Spotify, minus the requirements of pairing the device to a smartphone.

In a post made via the Pebble Technology’s official blog, the wearable Pebble Core will be the first to integrate Alexa, a highly promoted voice assistant technology interface from Amazon, which is standard on Amazon Echo.

Pebble Technology CEO Eric Migicovsky said, “Experiencing Amazon Alexa on-the-go right from Pebble Core is game-changing for wearable technology.”

With the Alexa integration, the Pebble Core’s capabilities increased much higher, as noted by Digital Trends. Through Alexa, this wearable technology can now provide users with news headlines outlined by different media outlets, shop on Amazon, analyze a user’s Pebble Health information, offer user-friendly interface in controlling smart home devices, order deliveries and much more.

Alexa requires Internet connection to be integrated into the Pebble Core. Thanks to the 3G SIM slot of the wearable device, Internet connection is made possible without the requirement of pairing it to a smartphone. To access Alexa’s capabilities, Pebble Core users are also required to use headphones with built-in mic.
