Neos nets new investment, business deal

Investments continue to pour into insurtech start-up Neos, this time from the owner of some of the leading home-related digital platforms in the UK.

Zoopla Property Group (ZPG) has announced a strategic investment in Neos, which prides itself as Britain’s first connected home insurance service.

The owner of Zoopla, uSwitch, PrimeLocation and Property Software Group has signed an exclusive partnership with the insurtech firm that provides the latest connected home technology and round-the-clock emergency assistance to customers.

Alex Chesterman, ZPG founder and CEO, said that the deal reaffirms the company’s mission “to provide the most useful resources for consumers when finding, moving or managing their home and to be the most effective partner for related professionals.”

For his part, Neos CEO Matt Poll said ZPG is the “perfect partner to support the benefits of the Neos service.”

“It’s fantastic to be partnering with and have the support of the ZPG team,” he said, “We know consumers who are making property decisions are also those looking to re-evaluate their home insurance and methods for protecting their cherished possessions.”

Neos is expected to fully launch to the market in early 2017.  It aims to create a new approach to insurance that enables consumers to actively protect their homes and help prevent incidents.

In October, Neos secured more than £1 million in initial seed funding from investors, raising its value to £8.4 million.

The company’s investors include British football legend Gary Lineker, Ageas CEO Barry Smith, former RSA managing director Steve Broughton and Ingenie founder Richard King.
