Konica Minolta Publishes Case Study on xPrint

SINGAPORE — (Marketwired) — 09/04/16 — Leader in print and enterprise content management Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia today published a case study based on Malaysian online printing firm xPrint. It highlights how Konica Minolta played an integral role in the firm’s success, and the results of its latest PRESS C1100 production printer.

Company
xPrint was founded in 2005 to fulfil large to small quantity on-demand business printing and graphic printing orders through its unique user-friendly online ordering system. The system allows print dealers to print their orders anytime, anywhere, enabling xPrint to reach a wide coverage of Malaysian customers quickly, while effectively overcoming payment bottlenecks associated with a prepaid policy.

Challenges
With its innovative online print ordering concept, xPrint’s business started to grow in 2007. This resulted in demands for faster deliveries and consistent print quality, and brought to light the limitations of its existing fleet of colour multifunctional printers. As such, xPrint decided it was time to source for a more reliable and cost-effective digital production printer.

xPrint concluded that Konica Minolta bizhub PRO 6500 was the best fit to take their business to the next level with its excellent print quality, affordability, and environmental friendliness with its plant-based Simitri HD toner.

Solution & Results
Recently, xPrint added two units of Konica Minolta latest flagship model – bizhub PRESS C1100. Combined with excellent productivity, outstanding colour reproduction and long run consistency, the series matches xPrint’s demanding production environment.

The devices offer a high output rate of 100 impressions per minute on media ranging from 55gsm to 350gsm. This significantly improves xPrint’s production efficiency on heavy stocks prints job and fulfils a broad range of on-demand print orders. Highlights include:

  • Maintained rated speed on media weights ranging from 55gsm to 350gsm
  • Automatic double-sided printing
  • Auto-calibration feedback system
  • Advance front-to-back registration adjustment technology
  • Short-turnaround time on high quality and demanding print jobs
  • Fulfilment of tight deadlines
  • Lower operating cost
  • Consistent and stable when processing long run or repeated print orders

Incorporated with exceptional teamwork, reliable production facilities as well as the great customer support from Konica Minolta, these qualities enabled xPrint to be the fast-growing online print service provider in Malaysia serving thousands of printing orders online daily.

Developing software for the Internet of Things (IoT) comes with its own set of challenges. Security, privacy, and unified standards are a few key issues. In addition, each IoT product is comprised of (at least) three separate application components: the software embedded in the device, the back-end service, and the mobile application for the end user’s controls. Each component is developed by a different team, using different technologies and practices, and deployed to a different stack/target –…

We are always online. We access our data, our finances, work, and various services on the Internet. But we live in a congested world of information in which the roads were built two decades ago. The quest for better, faster Internet routing has been around for a decade, but nobody solved this problem. We’ve seen band aid approaches like CDNs that attack a niche’s slice of static content part of the Internet, but that’s it. It does not address the dynamic services-based Internet of today. It doe…
