Fitbit Charge 2 has undergone few changes with new added features compared to its predecessor Charge HR. The new device comes with larger screen, which allows the user to check the stats and incoming alerts, reports the Time.

The device has the ability to carry out user functions with a tap on screen and pressing a button available at the side of the band. It also allows users to see the texts and calendar. It has multi-sport tracking function compatible with the phone’s GPS sensor in order to track the location data.

Fitbit Charge 2 has PurePulse heart rate tracking option. It features an enhanced exercise experience, including new health and fitness tools. It has a breathing exercises guide, which includes a 2- or 5-minute inhale and exhale session.

Users can also get a snapshot of their cardio fitness level to automatically find out their personalized cardio fitness level and score, based on users estimated VO2 Max that are calculated with the help of user profile, heart rate and exercise data. The battery of this device is very impressive – it lasts for four to five days.

The design and aesthetic appeal of Charge 2 is almost similar to the previous model, Charge HR, but the device gives an energetic and motivational feel to the users. The company offers silicone and leather type bands, which are swappable and are available in pink, indigo, and brown colors suitable for any kind of workouts.

“We stand behind our patented PurePulse technology. Our research team rigorously researched and developed PurePulse technology for three years prior to introducing it to market. We continue to conduct extensive internal studies to test the features of our products against properly calibrated industry standard devices like an EKG chest strap (and if push say: an industry standard consumer grade chest strap), across the most popular activities performed worldwide – including walking, running, biking, elliptical and more,” said Fitbit related to its PurePulse technology in a statement.

“In addition to our own validation, Consumer Reports independently tested the heart rate accuracy of two of our products with PurePulse technology, Charge HR and Surge, and gave both products an excellent” rating,” it added.

Fitbit has placed itself to the top in the list of wearable devices shipment this year, according to an IDC report.

Fitbit’s fitness trackers are highly popular than other companies in the fitness device tech world. The company offers the best features for the owners in affordable prices when compared to other fitness tracker manufacturing companies.
