DefinedCrowd Raises $1.1M in Seed Funding

DefinedCrowd Corp., a Kirkland, Washington-based data science company focused on building data refinery platforms for machine learning and artificial intelligence, raised $1.1m in seed funding.

Backers included Sony Innovation Fund, Amazon Alexa Fund, and Portugal Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the development of the SaaS platform.

Led by Dr. Daniela Braga, Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. João Freitas, Chief Technical Officer, DefinedCrowd provides a SaaS platform which combines machine learning and data science with crowdsourcing to enable enterprises to improve quality, scalability, and time-to-market for their artificial intelligence and natural language processing applications.
The company, whose global crowdsourcing audience amounts to over 36 countries covering over 30 languages and 100+ dialects, also has a research and development center in Lisbon, Portugal.
