Up until recently Amazon Alexa had only been available on Amazon devices, the first third party Alexa device launched recently and now it looks like Alexa will also be taking on Apple’s Siri on the iPhone.
Lexis is a new app for Apple’s iPhone that brings Amazon’s Alexa voice activated assistant to Apple devices.
Lexi is a smart personal assistant powered by Alexa Voice Services. Lexi listens as you speak, and then replies through the speaker or headphones connected to your iPhone or iPod touch.
Try out Alexa Voice Services before you purchase an Echo. Use Lexi as a remote for your Smart Devices when away from home. Test your Skills as you develop them.
You can see the new Lexi app in action in the video below, the app works in a similar way to Amazon devices that come with Alexa built in.
The app is available for $4.99 from iTunes, you can find out more details about Lexi at the link below, it works with Apple devices running iOS 9 and above and this includes the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, we wonder what Siri will think of the app?
