PrismTech™ will be demonstrating an open source FACE™ 2.1 Transport Services Segment (TSS) Reference Implementation at its booth at the upcoming Air Force Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM).
The Air Force FACE TIM will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Dayton, Ohio and represents an opportunity for both Government and Industry FACE contributors to share information about new FACE concepts, products, and tools in a technically focused environment.
Following the keynote presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to explore more than 30 exhibitor booths, listen to FACE paper presentations, and see live demonstrations of FACE aligned software components.
On its booth #17 in the exhibition hall, PrismTech will showcase an open source FACE 2.1 TSS reference implementation for use with its Vortex™ OpenSplice™ product, the leading (open source and commercial) implementation of the Object Management Group®‘s (OMG®) Data-Distribution Service™ (DDS™) standard.
(PrismTech’s Vortex OpenSplice is the most advanced, complete and widely used implementation of the Object Management Group’s (OMG) Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) standard and is ideally suited for the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). PrismTech’s open source TSS reference implementation provides a mapping-layer between the FACE Transport Services (TS) Application Programming Interface (API) and the standard OMG DDS API.
The new TSS implementation supports both C++ and Java APIs and enables portable components to share and exchange data using DDS. PrismTech’s TSS reference implementation is being made available under GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) v3 open source license terms.
PrismTech will demonstrate a simple Visual Tracker application which will use the open source “OpenCV” Computer vision libraries. It will track objects on the screen and place a bounding box on items that meet the selection criteria.
These tracks will be published using the PrismTech FACE TSS technology.
Completing the demonstration will be two subscribers:
- A local subscriber drawing the locations of the tracks on the computer screen in real time
- A remote TSS subscriber which receives the data via the PrismTech “Tactical Cloud”
