Samsung has not mentioned any dates in regards to the release date of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, but rumors are rife that the phones will be launched towards the end of March this year, probably on 29th.
With the said date coming in at a cut-neck speed, more and more speculations, rumors as well as leaks about the two phones can’t stop flooding the tech space. After seeing details of the two phones’ supposed model numbers as well as the fact that testing has already begun, recent leaks have been coming in with possible designs for the phones. But the latest is arguably the most in interesting.
Sourced from case maker MobileFun UK, the leaked Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus images don’t just give out the details of what the phone may look like when it’s made public. But they also shed some light on quite a few things that have been mostly talked about in the ongoing build-up towards the launch of the 2017 edition of the Galaxy S series.
With Apple recently including a dual-lens camera on the iPhone 7 Plus, many believe that Samsung will also do the same with its Plus variant of the S8. Although not official, the leaked case shows a huge rectangular cut on the back panel that basically confirms the presence of a dual-lens camera on the rear of the Galaxy S8 Plus. This will definitely be an interesting one, especially since the Galaxy S7 has a camera that DxOMark ranked as the second-best in the smartphone world in 2016, slightly behind the Google Pixel XL.
Another interesting development from the newly-leaked images is the presence of a third button on the left-hand side of the phone, which already has two volume up/down buttons. Now, according to rumors, this third button could be used by Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users to simply bring Bixby into life. Bixby is the AI-based digital assistant that the Korean tech giant is rumored to be working on and will reportedly make its debut when the S8 is launched as well. The feature is expected to take on Google Assistant, Amazon’s Alexa, Apple Siri, and Cortana from Microsoft.
Keep in mind that these are unconfirmed reports and Samsung hasn’t said anything regarding any of them, so take them with a grain of salt.
