In a recent appointment announcement, Savi Technology has named J. Richard Carlson as Chief Executive Officer, following an extensive executive search by Momenta Partners, a global advisory, executive search and ventures firm for the Connected Industry.
Carlson will assume his new role as CEO in April. Sean McGuinness, who had been interim CEO, will continue to serve as chairman of Savi’s board of directors. Drawing upon its decades of domain expertise and market insight and contacts, Momenta Partners leveraged its connected Advisory, Executive Search and Ventures practices to evaluate and appoint the best talent for Savi.
McGuinness was impressed with Momenta’s executive search process and said, “Momenta’s in-depth knowledge of the IoT space enabled them to conduct a focused, in-depth national search that yielded a highly qualified field of candidate finalists. It was a pleasure working with Jonathan Moulton and his team and we look forward to doing so again as our hiring needs materialize over the coming months.”
Carlson has more than 20 years of experience in the software and wireless space. As founder and president of the Neon Dolphin Technology Group, he advised and helped grow IoT (Internet of Things) and software firms. Prior to founding Neon Dolphin, Carlson spent eight years as CEO at Wireless Matrix Corporation, where he transformed the business from a niche satellite provider to a leader in the fleet management industry. In his new role, Rich will draw upon his expertise in growing IoT and software firms to accelerate Savi’s growth potential, while positioning the company for expansion in the rapidly emerging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market.
“The increasing volumes of IoT data generated across the supply chain offers Savi an immense opportunity as companies look to leverage that data to transform their global logistics network. Rich’s proven track record in expanding service revenue and creating market leading SaaS (software-as-a-service) solutions make him the perfect fit for Savi, where it is ultimately talent and experience that will accelerate growth,” said Jonathan Moulton, Managing Partner of Executive Search, Momenta Partners.
