Make Journal news a part of Amazon Alexa's daily flash briefing

In a new collaboration with Amazon, The Journal’s latest news is now available as part of the daily flash briefing through Alexa, Amazon’s voice controlled assistant.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — There’s a new way to get the latest news from The Providence Journal.

In a new collaboration with Amazon, The Journal’s latest news is now available as part of the daily flash briefing through Alexa, Amazon’s voice controlled assistant. The briefing “provides information, news, sports, weather and more,” according to Amazon.com.

Alexa users often listen to the daily flash briefing while getting ready for work or cooking dinner.

The Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Amazon Tap, Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets are already in millions of homes across the country and have been bestsellers this holiday season.

With a quick request of Alexa, households that already have one of the devices can hear the top headlines from the newspaper and from providencejournal.com.

To add The Journal to Alexa’s daily flash briefing:

1. Go to Settings inside the Alexa app and choose “Flash Briefing.”

2. Select “Get more Flash Briefing content.”

3. On the next screen, search for The Providence Journal.

4. Tap the logo, and then choose “Enable Skill.”

That should do it. The next flash briefing will include the most recent stories from The Providence Journal.
