The LG G6 will make history when it comes out later this year, if the latest reports are anything to go by. It is being said that the flagship will feature Google Assistant.

The digital assistant was only exclusive to the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, but it looks like the software giant has decided to bring it to the LG offering.

This will make the LG G6 the first non-Pixel device to have Google Assistant. Nevertheless, it came as a surprise to some that LG turned to Google for the feature instead of developing a new digital assistant for the device.

After all, Samsung is already working on its own virtual assistant, Bixby, which will have a male voice. Either way, it looks like LG would not want to be left out in that department.

LG is also looking to make use of the Google Assistant for its next batch of smartwatches, namely the LG Watch Sport and Watch Style.

It is being said that the LG G6 might also include Amazon’s Alexa virtual assistant, joining Huawei Mate 9, which is currently the only handset with the feature.

LG is expected to integrate Alex in its upcoming flagship since it has already added it to two of its products, the SmartThinQ Hub and Instaview refrigerator.

As for the rest of the specifications and features of the LG G6, previous leaks suggest it will boast a dual-camera setup, a fingerprint sensor and a USB-C charging port. The 3.5mm headphone jack is not going anywhere.

What is leaving, however, will be Friends, the modules that LG introduced in its last-generation offering, the LG G5. It appears that the feature did not take off as much as they had hoped. This ultimately allowed the LG to go for a non-removable battery for the LG G6.

As for the release date, the LG G6 is expected to be unveiled next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017.
