Google announced on Tuesday that the company has added more partners to its Google Home service in addition to Nest, Phillips Hue and SamsungSmartThings, which were added last year.
Belkin Wemo and Honeywell are the two latest additions to Google Home as the company plans to make its Smart Home product compatible with more and more manufacturers of Smart Home devices.
Since the launch of Google Home in 2016, the company has been adding an array of features to the device in order to make it your perfect assistant at home, competing with the likes of Amazon Alexa.
According to Ken Mixter, Software Engineer at Google, “With Google Home, it’s as simple as using your voice to turn up the music, get answers to a myriad of questions, manage tasks around the house, and even adjust the thermostat or lights. It allows you to bring the Google Assistant into your kitchen, living room or anywhere else around the house.”
To add a device to your Home Control, simply go to the Google Home app, open settings, select the Home Control option and click on the ‘+’ symbol. The company will also be bringing Home Control service to Google Pixel devices soon.
The IFTTT app can help your experience become even more seamless as you can customise your voice controls to your taste.

Smart Homes are still a novelty, but with multiple companies exploring the area and coming up with new products, the day isn’t far when our voice will be enough to control the environment inside our house and get many things done — adding convenience and probably lethargy to our lives.
