How has the Internet shaped our world? Beyond our obsession with our phones in our pockets? The Werner Herzog documentary, “Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World,” screening on Thursday night in Sonoma, tackles that question and more.
In the film, Oscar-nominated documentarian Herzog ponders the existential impact of the Internet, robotics, AI, the Internet of Things, and more on human life. The well-received film premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
The film contains interviews with Bob Kahn, Elon Musk, Sebastian Thrun, and other leaders of the technology world. Highlighted are provocative conversations about the ways in which the online world has transformed how virtually everything in the real world works – from business to education, space travel to healthcare.
The screening on Sept. 15 will be held at Sonoma Valley Museum of Art on Broadway. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the $20 ticket price includes the film, wine and light appetizers.
Tickets are available online at sonomafilmfest.org/film-festival-tickets-events.html or at the door.
