CompuCom Systems Inc., a technology infrastructure services company, is locating its new global headquarters operations in Lancaster County.
Working jointly with the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the new development is projected to bring $41 million in new capital investment to the county with the potential to create 1,500 new jobs over the next five to seven years, making this the largest single job announcement in Lancaster County history.
Located in the Bailes Ridge Business Park in Lancaster County, CompuCom will lease the 150,000-square-foot building to serve as its new global headquarters. The newly constructed facility will house corporate offices and global contact center operations.
Using CompuCom’s Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, the office is being designed as a leading “smart building” in South Carolina, officials said, using IoT to connect, automate and control all electronic systems and devices within the building including HVAC, lighting, meters/sensors, fitness equipment, kitchen electronics, elevators, water, power, communications, televisions and security.
“When a company like CompuCom decides to build its global headquarters and create 1,500 new jobs here, it sends a message to the entire world that South Carolina is open for business,” Gov. Nikki Haley said.
