Those who live within a supported area can have someone bring an Elantra for an hour-long test drive.
If you aren’t near a Hyundai dealership but want to test drive one of its cars, Amazon’s got your back.
Amazon and Hyundai have launched a (very) limited pilot program that lets users request a Hyundai test drive via Amazon. With “Prime Now. Drive Now,” Prime members input their ZIP codes and those who live within a supported area can have someone bring an Elantra to their homes for an hour-long test drive.
If all goes well, prospective drivers be directed to their nearest Hyundai dealership to buy the car.
There are several limitations to the program. For one thing, it’s a pilot and is only being offered to customers in Orange County and Los Angeles for now. Amazon and Hyundai are also only offering it on Aug. 27 and 28.
Still, it’s an easy process that could come in handy for those who don’t live near a dealership but want to see what all the fuss is about.
Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether it would expand the program to more cars, areas, and carmakers in the future.
As of this writing, several time slots for Aug. 27 and Aug. 28 are on a waitlist, so those interested in test-driving the car should move quickly.
