The cheapest 7-inch Android available from Walmart sells for $39.98. The 7-inch RCA Voyager 16GB Tablet runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Other features include 1.2Ghz quad-core CPU, webcam, Bluetooth and Wi-fi.
Amazon dropped a bomb last year on the bargain Android segment with the release of the $49.99 Fire Tablet. The Amazon Fire tablet offers a 7-inch screen with 1024x600px, 1.3Ghz Quad-core CPU, 8GB storage, 0.3MP front camera, 2MP rear camera, microphone, 3.5mm stereo jack, microUSB port, speaker, microSD port, Bluetooth, 7 hour battery life and Fire OS 5.
The Fire offers less storage and sells for $10 more than Walmart’s top selling Android tablet. Fire’s advantage is the tight integration with Amazon Prime services. Soon Alexa, the cloud-based voice assistant service, will be available on the Fire tablet. It is not clear yet, if Amazon will release an upgraded version of the Fire tablet.
