According to a statement received from Amazon, Amazon.com customers ordered more items on Black Friday in 2016 than Black Friday 2015 in the US. Amazon earlier announced new record in mobile orders on Thanksgiving Day. Mobile orders from Amazon customers on Thanksgiving Day exceeded both Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday 2015.
“Echo Dot was the best-selling item on Amazon.com on Thanksgiving and continues to be the best-selling item on Black Friday so far,” said a Amazon spokes woman on Friday.
Of all the things Amazon sells, the Echo Dot 2nd Generation is the most sold on Black Friday. This is surprising. The Echo Dot 2 is only discounted by $10, but the device is so popular with consumers that this rebate is enough to drive sales. In fact, Amazon is sold out of the Echo Dot until December 1.
