According to The Verge, Eight Smart Mattress functions very differently from other smart mattresses in the market, not only does the mattress monitor breathing rate and measure quality of sleep when user takes a snooze. But with the help of IFTT-capable items, Eight Smart Mattress can take control of your home.
Through the use of the Eight Smart Mattress’ IFTT integration function, the mattress will be able to connect with other IFTT-capable items around a user’s home, like a smart coffee maker that the mattress will command to brew once the user wakes up and hits the snooze button. The smart mattress can also control light intensity when turned on to certain modes, like sleep mode. Now, through the use of Amazon Alexa, users can activate Eight Smart Mattress’ bed warming function with a simple voice command.

For now, that seems to be the only thing Amazon Alexa can do, but future integration will most likely improve the range of functions of Amazon Alexa. As per Techcrunch, the Eight Smart Mattress will have a phone app which can act as an alarm. The app can be customized to wake up the user at the ideal during the sleep cycle. It also has an in-built white noise function that will help user’s head to sleep better.
Development of AI personal assistant has come a long way in terms of integration and function. Now, they are able to learn user’s personal preferences over time and give smart suggestions depending on the user’s preferences. Integration of Amazon Alexa into Eight Smart Mattress is just one of the new functions of Amazon’s AI personal assistant.
Recently, Amazon Alexa was uploaded with a function that will help users in cooking. Through this function, Amazon Alexa can suggest meals to the user depending on preferred cooking time or ingredients at hand.
