Greenwave Systems aims to bolster its IoT platform’s analytics capabilities by acquiring Predixion Software, a developer of real-time visual edge analytics software.
Greenwave Systems said the acquisition will enhance its Axon platform for the Internet of Things, enabling advanced analytics and real-time data insight.
“By combining Predixion’s advanced edge and cloud analytics capabilities with our Axon platform, we offer our customers the ability to capture, monitor, analyze and act on data that can be found at the edge, on devices, or on a gateway,” Martin Manniche, CEO of Irvine, Calif.-based Greenwave Systems, told CRN.

Greenwave Systems did not disclose terms and conditions, including the price, of the acquisition.
The company’s Axon platform provides advanced wireless gateways, routers, sensor-enabled devices and mobile apps, allowing customers to securely manage time-sensitive data processed by smart devices and support apps that can be plugged in and managed with smart controls.
Predixion Software’s flagship product is Riot, a fully self-contained edge analytics engine. This product will be added to Greenwave Systems’ Axon platform, helping it deliver a more intelligent IoT experience to customers and bring deeper insight into network management and performance, said Manniche.
“[Predixion Software’s] technology and expert team are an ideal fit with our mission and commitment to further expand our global growth,” he said. “Combined with our disruptive IoT software and services, our customers can now take advantage of an unparalleled combination of the most complete and flexible IoT platform, along with the ability to capture, analyze and take action on data in real time and in one platform.”
The purchase will also add top industry talent to the Greenwave Systems team and accelerate customer development in IoT, M2M, network management and media delivery for IPTV and linear TV.
“Real-time analytics are invaluable to companies with IoT deployments as they provide critical insights into network devices at any given time. … For example, with advanced analytics monitoring and reporting on devices across the network in real time, companies can fix maintenance issues before they cause bigger problems or shift resources to offload an overworked device,” said Jim Douglas, president of Wind River, an Alameda, Calif.-based Predixion Software partner. “We are excited to continue our work with Greenwave and develop next-generation analytics solutions for IoT.”
Greenwave Systems, founded in 2008, has received about $40 million in funding to date.
