UC San Diego graduate Noah Martin turned to Kickstarter this spring, hoping to elevate $35,000 to develop a voice-activated “sensible” mirror named Firefly.
Things didn’t finish nicely.
The marketing campaign raised solely $12,217 in pledges, none of which can be paid out. If you don’t meet your purpose, you don’t get the cash.
So what went mistaken? Martin was pitching an Internet of Things product, and the IoT is hotter than blazes.
Firefly’s product video had one thing to do with it.
The video was like Ambien, destined to put you to sleep.There wasn’t a second of pizzaz, regardless that Firefly might do the whole lot from challenge your each day schedule on the mirror to hail a experience sharing service.
There was nothing to buzz about. So individuals didn’t. Firefly turned roadkill.
