If you’re like me, you appreciate the ability to complete tasks without having to put in too much effort. I have all of my lights syncing with my smartphone so that I can turn them on using an app, and I have the same type of setup for my garage door, security system, and more.
Every device works with a completely different app. The fact I have to switch back and forth between apps – and maybe even deal with a phone call or text while I’m doing it – I’m really not saving much time getting things done. Now there’s a gadget that provides an even better solution to our productivity needs.
The developers from Tantiv4 have created the FetchitGO, the Internet of Things (IoT) remote that’s made to perform simple tasks so that we can focus on the larger hurdles that come our way on a daily basis.
This device keeps all of the tasks, which you setup yourself, in one place for easier access. Wouldn’t it be nice to not worry about setting aside time to make coffee in the morning or calling an Uber when you’re getting ready to leave? Wouldn’t it be even better to do both tasks simultaneously? With this new smart device, it’s literally as easy as pushing a button.

Changing How We Get Things Done
Internet of Things (IoT) devices are gadgets that work over a wireless connection and can be controlled remotely using an application. They’re a rapidly growing concept in productivity, too. They are designed to help us perform everyday tasks more easily, but up to this point, even using these apps and devices can actually take longer to complete a project or task than it would if we just did it manually.
The FetchitGO was developed to enhance productivity by making it easier for users to take advantage of IoT devices.
“IoT is growing, but there is no consistent effort to make sure that these devices can be controlled in a mainstream-friendly way,” says Lokesh Johri, co-founder of Tantiv4. “Imagine you have to turn on an Internet of Things light in a room. You first find your phone, remove the screen lock, figure out if it is a Lifx or a Hue light. Go to that app and then go to the appropriate control and then change the switch. This, in contrast to the old way- go to the wall switch and flick it. IoT is supposed to improve our lives not make it more complex.”
After a year and a half of development, Johri and his team have brought FetchitGO to the consumer market to give users accessibility without creating, even more, steps to complete a task. The team of engineers isn’t done, though.
“We want these devices very easy to install and use and also be secure. Getting that combination takes some time. We are constantly improving it, even now. That process does not stop,” says Johri.
The Smart Device We’ve All Been Waiting For
The physical device looks like a small board with magic buttons that make things happen when you are busy with something else. Each button can be assigned a task, and when you need the specific task completed, you simply press the button and swipe the bottom of the board to confirm with the device that it needs to be done. Tasks can also be layered, meaning one button can get multiple things done at once.
The team behind FetchitGO has also joined forces with If This Then That (IFTTT) to make the setup and experience even better. With the help of IFTTT, the device can do more tasks for the user.
IFTTT creates ‘recipes,’ which allow your FetchitGO device to work with IoT devices across your home more easily. Have a habit of forgetting to close the garage door or turn down the thermostat before bed? Now all of that is taken care of with two actions: press and swipe. It truly is that simple.
How It Works
The device is super easy to set up. Once you receive your device, just register it using the accompanying MyFetchitGO app on your smartphone. Once it’s registered and paired, the fun begins! Your FetchitGO is now able to perform whatever tasks you want. Don’t forget that it can also use any IFTTT recipes you have set up, too.
The MyFetchitGO App
Like any app, the MyFetchitGO app just adds to the simplicity and cool design of the device. In the app, you can register your account, add devices, setup tasks, and check each device’s battery power to make sure you never have to go without the everyday assistance each device offers.
Setup is easy with the app’s QR reader, or you can simply enter all of the information for each one manually.
The Press of a Button
Each button on the device can be assigned an individual task or group of tasks, and you can use as many or as few buttons as you need. You can also use multiple devices, too. Use one upstairs to take care of lighting, music, or whatever else you need done in that area; use one in the kitchen for your stove’s smart knobs, grocery shopping tasks, etc; and keep one handy in the common areas for your living room TV, security system, and more.
The Kickstarter for the FetchitGO has raised over $55,000 since it launched, surpassing the $50,000 goal. Backers of the device receive a variety of goodies for their pledges – from a thank-you note to a retail distribution package. If you missed out on the Kickstarter, you could still get your very own FetchitGO here!
Everyone sees the endless possibilities that are now a reality with the FetchitGO, including yours truly. I absolutely hate menial tasks when I could use my time doing things I enjoy like spending time with family and friends, sleeping in five more minutes every morning (not going to lie, that’s my favorite), and even going for a run with the extra time I’ve saved throughout the day.
It’s also perfect for those of us who have a hard time remembering important things, such as taking medication, checking in when traveling, or paying bills. By using the FetchitGO, we’ll never have to worry about any of that ever again.
