When buying a smart lock, most consumers want remote access. However, you usually have to pay extra for this service from the lock manufacturer or pair your smart lock with a connected hub. Today Kwikset, a leading smart lock manufacturer, announced its new integration with Samsung SmartThings™. The integration will allow owners of Kwikset® SmartCode™ 910, 914 or 916 smart locks the opportunity to connect with Samsung SmartThings™ to control their Kwikset® SmartCode™ smart locks. It will also offer voice control using Alexa-enabled devices to lock their deadbolts.
“The integration between Kwikset, SmartThings and Amazon Alexa-enabled devices offers homeowners even more convenience by simplifying the way they interact with their locks. Homeowners can now say, ‘Alexa, lock my door’ instead of having to open an app,” said Ashton Good, Kwikset Senior Product Manager, Spectrum Brands Inc. – Hardware and Home Improvement Division. “We’re excited for Kwikset to work in cooperation with SmartThings and Amazon to greatly improve and simplify the homeowner’s smart home experience, whether they are at home or away from home.”
