As the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is getting more imminent, numerous top-of-the-line smartphones from some of the world’s most anticipated brands are now starting to surface one by one. The latest of which is from the Chinese manufacturer Huawei – the highly-awaited Huawei P10.
The latest leak about Huawei P10 is originating from Weibo, a Chinese social network. Accordingly, the forthcoming smartphone is slated to come with two additional, green and purple, variants. The newly added hues are now on top of the previously disclosed black, white and gold versions. In addition, the new color variants have shown a dual-camera set-up, courtesy of Leica. The placement and quality of the said optics may go similarly to that of its predecessor, Huawei P9.
Huawei P10 is also expected to come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution aimed at 2560 by 1440 pixels. Moreover, the device is speculated to be powered by the firm’s proprietary Kirin 960 that will be supported by a 64-bit octa-core processor and a 4GB or 6GB of random access memory (RAM).

On top of that, Huawei P10 may also be heading for Amazon’s Alexa as its digital artificial intelligence assistant. The choice may startle some as most upcoming flagship smartphones are going for the Google Assistant. As for the Chinese firm, it may be due to its goal to power their devices’ interconnectivity with Internet of Things.

Huawei P10 is also speculated to support the Google Daydream Virtual Reality (VR) platform. Other sources have outed that the device may sport audio chips from Yamaha and Harman Kardon. While Huawei has not elaborated yet on the device’s audio capabilities, the choice to arm these products is to beef up the audio quality and provide something marketable for the audiophiles.
Huawei P10 is scheduled to be unveiled at MWC in Barcelona in either March or April. It is expected to be retailed at approximately $1,498 or less.
